"Alien Form"Hatzegopteryx thambema. An acrylic painting of an encroaching Hazegopteryx.
I was very keen to do another horror themed piece after my Baba Yaga painting, this time with a pterosaur. I spent ages trying to figure out a pose, something that was along the lines of Julio Lacerda's rendition of Hatzegopteryx snatching a dinosaur up while on just its forelimbs. I finally found my pose when one of the trailer for Alien: Covenant was released with a full shot of the new xenomorph/protomorph glaring at the viewer while on all fours. I thought it was a perfect pose for my pterosaur.
So much so, I made the enviroment look like LV-426 from the first two Alien films to pay further homage to the Alien franchise. Though I finally saw Alien: Covenant and was pretty disappointed with it.
Completed on the 19th of April 2017.
Done using acrylics and color pencils.

Wow, this is absolutely outstanding! The amount of detail is spectacular. You did so well with the perspective and pose; it's mind blowing. The "alien" atmosphere came out really well, and I admire this concept very much.
