I've wanted that book for a while but I don't have that kind of money to spend.
I'm working on a game and the city within it is heavily inspired by the Walled City, so things like this really help get an insight into how it all fit together.

The only thing I'm struggling with is how the buildings actually connected.
People who've been there say you can get around the city without ever touching the ground floor, but that leaves the question of how the buildings are linked.
Did they actually build coridors to connect them, break down existing walls, create make-shift bridges between etc

I even contacted one of the authors of that book who refused to help answer that simple question, so it's really left me perplexed.

I just watched its price on amazon. 760 dollars bucks!? I paid only 50 for Japanese edition. whatta crazy resaler

Yes, I was wondering some buildings has no mainstay particularly top of them. They seemed to only place one after another shack. How the hell resist to earthquake.
But that's an Asian's mystery

I'll wait your game project has a goal.
