Contest entry for Mack1098
It’s a closed species designed by me for the contest. The theme was an image of candles in jar.
Sorry it’s so last minute!
I wanted to come up with something cute and simple, with flames and gradients, and this is what I got!
If you’d like to create your own Glimyern, DM me, and I’ll tell you when you can buy a slot! I just haven’t yet come up with enough of this species to allow others to make characters from it.

INFO:
The name comes from “glim”, a synonym for candle, and “yearn”, which means to want something (it can also sound like the second syllable in “lantern”, which is why I got rid of the “a”). This is obviously because they are candle-themed, and because they always look like they’re sleeping/dreaming.
They have a mind power (aka ESP powers or psychic powers), like dreamwalking, telekinesis, clairvoyance, telepathy, precognition, retrocognition, etc.
The creatures in the jars can be any animal, real or fantasy. They always have their eyes closed and are holding a flame (it can be any color), but natural red-orange-yellow is the most common. The creatures inside the jar always match the color of their flames, but can also have other colors (as seen with this one).
The jar is made of almost unbreakable glass, and the top is always sealed with a cloth tied by a string with charms/beads (the charms can be any shape, such as star, heart, circle, etc.) that can be any color.
The jar can be any shape and can be tinted any color. They are usually small, ranging from 2’0” tall at most all the way to just a centimeter tall. The jar has never been opened or broken so far. There is no previous knowledge of what happens if the creatures are let out of their jars.
There have been rumors that Glimyerns are able to grant wishes, but as they are a very new species, no one knows how to get wishes from them.
When you hold their jars, you can feel that they are comfortably warm and radiate a mystical aura. Also, they glow, so it’s a nice little nightlight
They don’t talk, have never been seen to eat or drink, and hardly even move (aside from the occasional ear/wing twitch or normal sleep movements like shifting a tail or wing or neck). However, if their bond with someone is strong, that person can sense the Glimyern’s emotions and desires.

I love these cute little things they are total pocket buddies!
I’m still developing them a lot, let me know if you have any questions or curiosities about them!
Also, any ideas on what to name this Glimyern? I wanted a cool name for them but I don’t want to dive deep into the rabbit hole of names just yet.
