I'm working on a new setting, largely based on the large amount of old time crime noir radio shows like Boston Blackie and The Shadow.

so here we have Riona, the female half of a pair of Detectives in a dystopian setting with overtones of the 20's/30's, both she and her lover Joe are immortal, though they go out of their way to not let other people know. this won't be Highlander, they don't absorb power by cutting off other immortal's heads or anything like that. She fills the role of the bodyguard/strongarm of the pair, while Joe (not pictured) fills the role of the puzzle solving intuitive detective. though he can hold his own in a fight (just as she's not just some dumb musclehead)

Riona can be called a bit...psycho. she's morally ambiguous, finds laws are to be followed only when it suits her, and collects knives like other women (of her time) collect shoes. she hates weakness and can be thought of as cold or heartless to those she considers to be chronic victims, though she'll show compassion for people who've been victimized through nothing else but the corrupt lawlessness of the times. she has a near pathological hatred for criminals and predators, and those who prey on the weak, and has absolutely no qualms about teaching them the error of their ways in a very permanent fashion. she's spent hundreds of years learning any form of combat she can find, and having traveled the world without any great concern about dying, she's learned an amazing amount. yes, she can kill you. yes she can do it in an evening gown and high heels, and yes she'll be out the door and in a cab before the lady you're dancing with realizes you're dead. she's that good. IF she lets you die quick.

Joe's her calming influence, and the one who keeps her from getting into too much trouble, and is the one often left to convince the police chief to overlook the occasional pile of bodies (but always only criminals)
