Were those little specks of color on their faces and shoulders intentional? Because they're really cute! Almost look like little freckles! They add really nice texture and depth.

yes!! lapis has lose speckled strands of pyrite flecks (like in real lapis) and peris frecks are a leftover aesthetic from an old prosthetic limb headcanon where her gem was sanded, and that was some of the gem's dust. it still matches her gem color but it used to glow when her gem did! that shows up a lot in my old lapidot stuff from last summer

aaahh wow this is really really well done!! the colors are amazingly coordinated and the details is GORGEOUS *O* not to mention peridot's expression is point-on when it comes to her trying to get along with lapis! as well as lapis's expression, she still has that broken, sad look, yet she's trying her best :') this is such an amazing piece, just wanted to say because it looks like a huge improvement compared to your other pieces!
