yeah, they do have somewhat of a story that i thought up for this world i'm building. i wanted to make a really big comic, so before i started on the plot and writing, i thought up all the races and different places for the story to take place in.
so it takes place hundreds of years after the end of the world, and the animal people live in a really run down city that most people on this world don't even know exist. they all work with black magic and are very in tune with nature, and they can communicate with animals and even the earth - not by speaking directly to it, but they can sense how ___'s feeling etcetc- there is a little more information but it'd be a little too spoiler-y to say haha

it will eventually be a comic hahah it's sort of a side project though so it won't be done for a long time ~_~ i want it to be perfectly planned before i start drawing it haha

haha i honestly just felt like drawing boobs so there they are~
and i did see it~ i actually enjoyed the movie. i thought over all the acting was decent, charlize was fantastic in her part, and i was surprised that kristen's acting was fine as well. like you already said, my only complaint was that her accent was pretty weak, but i think this was her first movie with a fake accent? so i could see how it would be a challenge for her. i didn't think it was boring at all, even during the slowest parts i was paying attention to their environment and how gorgeous everything was, so i was just in awe the entire time. i thought the world was built very well also, and how they met so many different people on their journey ;u; and omg i loved how the forest played tricks as well aaaa i want to see it again tbh.
what else~ i really appreciated the relationship between snow white and the huntsman. they didn't go over board with it like i figured they would, i thought it was very realistic, especially at the very end of the movie. i loved that it was subtle and left open for interpretation.
i need to see it again. LOL

lol, the thing is that I wouldn't mind seeing it again (not at the theaters, but if it were on tv or something), simply because of the world that they created. I feel that if there is one thing that the movie did well, it was the scenery and cgi. Everything was beautiful. I enjoyed the butterflies and the fairies. The stag creature was amazing (though plucked right out of Princess Mononoke). The first forest was terrifying and the second was beautiful and magical. So, yes—overall pleasing to the eyes. It was much like Avatar in that regard.

What I disliked, however, was pretty much everything else. Over everything, I hated that the dialogue was continually weak. It always felt like the characters were telling you what was happening rather than just showing you. The opening narration was unnecessary and only really there because they didn't trust the audience to understand what was happening without it.

And then there were the lackluster battles where I was most bored. Nothing important ever seemed like it was happening during the battles. I never feared for the characters' lives. Moreover, the characters I did care about were the dwarves, but I still thought that they spent an obnoxious amount of time spent with them rather than telling the actual story (maybe if they had managed their time better, they could have nixed the narrator).

I don't understand why there were two love interests. Neither of them even ended up with her in the end. Maybe it could have been interesting if she decided she didn't need to be in love to be happy and would carry out her rule independently, but they didn't even do something like that. She just threw the Huntsman a look and it was over.

Charlize was actually the worst actor in the film in my opinion. She either yelled or whispered all of her lines, overacted like hell, and paced when she didn't know what else to do. She was like a caricature of an angry queen and I expected better from her than to ham it up. The only likeable thing about her character for me was that the idea of beauty as protection came from her mother, but they didn't stay with that for very long.

Besides that, I came into the movie believing that it would be a more accurate retelling of the tale of Snow White. Sure, it started out that way, but in the end it proved to be just another re imagining that made little sense.

Sorry if I'm ranting. I promise I'm not trying to play the "I'm a writer/actress so I know everything about movies" card. I don't, so maybe the movie did something right that excused everything it did wrong and I'm just missing it. And I definitely know that not everyone will feel the same way about movies that I do.

That being said, I personally cannot respect a movie that has a horse just magically waiting for the princess on the beach when she needs it. Also, horses don't lie down of their own volition and I think that upset me the most, lol.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, though. And I'm happy that you ended up being inspired to create a beautiful piece of art.
