Description
Two hours! I'm so proud of myself!Sketched during homework, painted during livestream. This is Persona for HeroTV's first event, sitting on a nearby building.
I really just wanted to do a painting. With way too many colors and throwing most of what I learned about color theory out the window (or not). And surprise! It worked, and it looks cool. Probably will stick with this painting style if I remember too.

and then just attacking it
until it started making sense
Painting is pretty easy once you get the hang of it imo and so much faster than lineart+flat color+shading+shading+shading, but at the same time as it looks really pretty, it's really difficult to make consistent and clean, so I still prefer the look of lines and cell shading.

Painting leaves a TON of space for experimentation, like half the time I don't have a clue what I'm doing XD

paint tool SAI. I have an old version of photoshop that's just crap for blending.

Well, yeah, photoshop blends completly different than SAI.
Just once I used SAI and I didn't know what was happening ^^

I just feel like SAI has much prettier results than photoshop. Or at least that's how it works for me. I'll need to try out one of the newer versions of photoshop sometime though to make sure.

I totally didn't think I'd get this far in two hours either. Usually it takes me a good five hours to get anything decent.
I think it helps that there are almost no really clear details. Lol i chose the side without the face, the shirt, the everysinglecomplicatedthingicoulddraw etc.

But I like the fact that there's almost no clear details because it makes the clear details themselves stand out more.

It did feel like I was drawing Batman or something. Though I don't think Batman sits cross-legged when he's just watching things happen. Batman broods.
I doubt the peaceful sit down thing he's got going here will last long. He probably doesn't have the patience. XD
