Description
This is the first quadruped animation I've ever done. Personally I'm disappointed in the head and tail bob, but the assignment wasn't on secondary action (well okay I guess it was but whatever). In total 30 frames (on twos).Don't claim as your own.

Wow. I could stare at this for hours. It's so amazing. I want to try animating traditionally and it takes a lot of time and patience. I unfortunately have neither.

Thanks for the comment and the fav. I hope I don't distract you too much.
I know it's hard to not compare yourself to other artists (I know I do it allll the time), but you have to be able to want to do traditional animation or any animation for that matter. You're love for the art is what should drive you to do it; it'll trump any form of block you have.
Now, I know it can be frustrating to have a goal and not feel you have the skill to even come close to others discourages you (it gets to me more then it probably should), but if you work hard you can do anything you want. Art as a whole is all about self-discipline, and I know if you keep doing art you can improve and make it.
Just don't become passive about it and resign yourself. Fight for your art!

CS5. Though I only use it for composting stuff I animate; I do all the timing, planning, and drawing on paper first then mess with it digitally and make it all pretty.

Thanks
I've actually done some of the traditional training assignments they did; the big one is the "Double Bounce Cowboy" (which I'll post in a little while).

Hey, this is pretty cool! I do like how you've made everything move, it seems like the motions are natural. There's a bit of a jerk in one spot which makes that one moment a bit awkward, and it would benefit from being scanned rather than photographed, but the rest is great. I sure wish I could animate like this, it reminds me of the classic style cartoons

Thanks!
The one spot is due to how I did the head bob; I had a head base that I put under the body frames.
On like two frames the base moved a bit while I was tracing it.
I also was trying to go for a double head bob.
The reason I took photos of them is because it's quicker than scanning and I can also keep the drawing in a more consistent spot.
It's honestly not that bad. I'm sure you could. I find having a good plan about the placement of the frames (in a all-in-one drawing) to start helps a lot.
