Description Silly Buffy. You don't get rid of Der Kindestod with a stake. Art card drawn on commission. I'm planning on opening up ATC commissions in September after things settle down over here and I finish up my current commissions for my wonderful and patient clients!

Marker and colored pencil on a 2.5 x 3.5" bristol card

Hey, so I've always wondered - What do all the little initials you put before your deviations mean? I recall ATC, SkBk, and a couple others, and never knew what they meant.

ATC stands for Artist Trading Card (the alternative is ACEO, which I never use)
SkBk means Sketchbook
PE means #PrivateExchange and signifies anything I drew for that group
The DAC ones (there are only 3 so far) are things I drew in #Design-A-Character exercises

Hmm, I don't think I use any others. But they're mainly a way for me to classify what the pictures are and/or where they're from.

There are people who will throw a fit if you call something you are willing to sell an ATC. It's majorly silly, just thought I'd drop a warning.

Since there are several terms out there, I figured there would be sensitivies too. The latest I've seen is PSC (personal sketch card). I'm trying to train myself to just say "sketch card" or "art card" so people know what I'm talking about.

(Out of curiosity, do you know why people would be upset at the term ATC?)

A highly condensed version without guarantee of correctness, but what I gathered when I was actively trading ATCs 5 years ago:

In 1996 a Swiss artist popularised ATCs, making up rules. "Must be 2.5 by 3.5 inches", "only for trade, not for sale", "write contact information on the back" and "trade on gatherings/face to face". As I understood it, the original idea was to have a tiny platform for professional artists to create stuff without worrying if anybody wanted to buy it and networking/enhacing contacts between artists.

The online swappers conveniently ignored the "trade face-to-face" bit, but the rule about trading-only, some latched onto pretty fiercely, claiming that selling went against the "spirit" of ATCs. I think the underlying idea may be something about art/the world at large being too focused on money.
I've heard some rants on the lines of "those greedy people selling art cards cash in on our making ATCs popular", conveniently ignoring 100 years of commercial trading cards that the idea of ATCs was built on. Eh, sorry, I may be seguing into a rant myself here.

Personally I like the term "Art Cards" best, but use "ACEO" because it's widely used, at least that I see. For example etsy.com includes "ACEO" in the list of related tags if you pick the top-level category "Art".
Sketch card I think I have mostly seen in context with professional comics and franchises - Marvel or Lucasarts hiring people to draw comic or Star Wars characters to include in their randomised printed trading card packs as additional super-rare buying incentive; or comic artists drawing stuff in trading card format on the side for sale. With your style, that seems like a decent fit to me, particularly for Buffy and the like.

I hope that was at least a bit useful.
