My pencil-drawing colored with Photoshop 6.0. I kept going back and forth between coloring and a report, so it's not as good as it should've been. The perspective is very well done but I think the back side of the head is a bit flat. As for your coloring, it's beautiful! And you say that's only half effort!?! Many stars for you!
I love Gambit! He's one of my favorites. We even have the same first name and come from the same city! (Well, in the comic anyway) ^_^

Personally I dont think that Gambit would have made a good addition to X2 since you cannot introduce a new rebel, when you already have Wolvsy, and it would start messing up the whole romance with rogue and iceman. but thats just my opinion NOW....to the art work since he is not a character i ever liked and some what dislike i cant really enjoy this piece that much BUT the overall look and style of the work captures gambit really well....

Grr.. Remy was in X2...bitch to the editing director (his scene got cut) and yes Rogue and Iceman were "together" but after the Rogue/Wolverine thing... (weird) anyhow.. Remy and Rogue come after... thank you very much. And the animated series... was OoKiE... ugh...
ANYWHO... I love this drawing.. Remy, while at times rather ornery, can be cute and ::sigh:: very sweet (remember.. it's part of his powers.. his "hypnotic charm" plus he's cajun.. ::sighs again:: making him pretty damn charming already) I dun really think pink suits him but it looks cute so what the hell. And the picture does keep Remy in character...hehe and sooooo cute too!
So.. AHHHHH if you wanna bitch, bitch about the editing not that Remy wasn't in the movie because he was and hopefully his cameo will make it to the deleted scenes section of the dvd. Remy will most definitely be in X3 and 4... and how could they leave out the Remy/Rogue romance.. even though that little !#@*% mistreats poor Remy... hmph... but trust me it's coming.. if you've seen X2 and the ending of it...(and know anything about the X-men comic series) you know it's coming!!!)

That is SO great! Gambit's awesome... he was supposed to be in X2, but they wanted to focus on Wolverine (*poutpout*). I love that pose, too, it's just so... so HIM. He would be the one to do that. He'd be watching all the ladies walk by, making debonaire comments, or singing some song in French... GODS, I love Gambit.
To the person up there who was so rude to be like, "You ruined Gambit, wah wah...", you should probbaly learn how to leave meaningful and backed up comments if you want anyone to take you seriously.
Seriously, though, on an artistic level, this is beautiful. Your use of pose and color is very nice, and the line is smooth and clean. Dare I ask what medium you used? Maybe adding a picture or poster to the wall would spice it up a bit. ^^
