Dice originally planned it as sequel, but EA kinda closed the project for milk some Battlefields out. if I can remember correctly it was supposed to form a trilogy...

when the project was started again it was a prequel, but then something happened during production that shifted the game into a reboot (after one title, fastest reboot existing).

I think that Anita Sarkeesian happened to the production and if rumors are correct she has "complete power over development and writing"...

so if she wakes up tomorrow and decide that Faith Tattoos are not "femminist" anymore DICE will HAVE TO REMOVE THEM.

DICE is still doing one hell of an effort to continue this project against all odds and both EA(who hated the product  since the first episode...they cut Budgets and time to DICE...) and Anita.

the story will seems to be focused on faith "growing up" or something...

It could be only a next gen title, I only found contradictory rumors, one this for sure is that it HAVE to get out for Xbox, PC, and PS and not only Xbox as rumored before...

one of the chief devs during the reveal said that they will blend "fights and escapes" much better and that Faith will be much better as a fighter, they seems to have simplified a lot of imputs, but this do not mean the game become a FPS(probably better melee and same gun system as before)

of course they promise the usual "bigger and better" and they are also working on the visual filter of the game... my bets are that the "runner vision" is the filter they are talking about.

from the trailer I can see that they are going for a more sci-fi stylish design for the guards/police...I am not much of a fan of that...

this is all I can find about the game...I am a bit worried, the first game was my first game on the PS3 and one of the most interesting this gen, this have a lot of "production bumps".

Uhm … wow that's a lot of infos you got there!
And they contain a lot of …weird rumours imo! I don't think Anita Sarkeesian has that much "power" over a game since she's actually just a media critic and blogger, not really working in the gaming industry. And Faith is a strong, quite independant character which is precisely not sexed up, in a skimpy outfit or anything, so there is nothing she could criticise. As far as I know she just writes about sexism and the portrayal of women in games and things like that. And Faiths tattoos are some of the most badass things ever, no matter if female or male? As far as I've caught up, Miss Sarkeesian only criticises misogyny and as far as I know, the production team really wanted a strong, female character -- just think of that photoshopped artwork of faith where she was made more feminine. The production team said that they were very upset and sad to see that someone thought that a twelve year old with boobs was more preferable than an authentic female character - I think that says a lot about them.

–– I absolutely love that statement and it shows that they are really nothing near sexism if it comes to the portrayal of Faith, so I don't think you have to be worried about her tattoos being removed or that Faith's design gets criticized in first place. C: 

But you know, I'm really not that well informed about production processes and things like that, so I can't really say anything for certain – these are just thoughts and opinions of mine.

But thanks anyway for sharing your infos on that and well … I guess one will definitely know once the game is out and I'm still looking forward to it, hoping it's gonna be awesome!
