Sometimes even Geek Boy representations of Organized Thoughts need a Day Off. For October's case, it'll be watching movies in her panties, on a living room with all the furniture pushed back and eating an ice bucket worth of popsicles cuz eating ice cream from tubs is too cliched with her pet fluffy named Muffy.
Just wish she cleans after herself, though..."

Alright, alright! I was meaning to watch a few of the Godzilla movies this summer anyways, so I'll add it to the list. Sadly, I will not get the chance before seeing the 2014 version on the silver screen.

I will see them afterwards, I just ideally wanted to watch a few of the movies before the new movie, to give me a perspective on the franchise as a whole. The only other Godzilla movie I've seen is the 1998 movie, so yeah... I want to know how this movie compares to the others.

GMK: Godzilla x Mothra x King Ghidorah All Monsters Attack (Another personal fave. Godzilla's really evil in this one)
Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS
Godzilla Final Wars
if anything, I would recommend one or two from each era to give you a bit of an idea what to expect. You could also throw in "reject" Godzilla if you want. (by reject I meant Emmerich's GODZILLA. Some of us fans came to respect this film as a separate incident but as a Godzilla film, it blows...)

(Saw the new Godzilla movie yesterday. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement, even if I'm not a huge fan of the Kaiju genre. My parents did enjoy it, however, and since the trip to the movie theater was an anniversary present to them, I am pleased they enjoyed themselves. So taking the good with the bad here. ^_^)

My parents watched the Heisei Godzilla movies as children, so they went for the nostalgia. My mom gets very anxious during intense action scenes, so it probably helped that there was about only 10 minutes of solid monster battles in the film.
