Description
8.5" x 11" Commissioned PcBrandon the horse had to be laid to rest this year and Jerilyn's bf requested this drawing
I enjoyed doing this one, it didnt take me as long to complete
All graphite pencils, and mech pencils used and my 3 erasers
i decided to leave off a background, as i wanted brandon to be the focus, and in some ways he looks like he's leapin off the paper...
thank you for looking, any comments critques would be appreciated

Very good drawing. Perfect proportions and lots of detail. To make it even better, there are 2 things I suggest. First, you can use a blending stump to smooth out the graininess and make it more photorealistic. Just be careful not to lose all the detail you worked so hard on. Second, just when you think your drawing is done, take your darkest pencil, find the darkest parts of your drawing, and make them even darker. Then, find the lightest parts and make them lighter with your eraser. That should give the drawing more impact and increase realism. I hope this helps.

Wow this is great! I would say the horse is to high over the jump, over-jumping, but other than that, this is AMAZING!

i think drawing a loved one FOR a loved one is beautiful.
so is the drawing, great job on the mane. the tail has just as much detail, but probably could have benefitted from more contrast (or is it the scanner/camera?). It looks a bit flat towards the leg, so a few darker "lowlights" (what's the opposite of highlight?) with a softer pencil would have done a great job, i believe.
Absolutely adore your job on the horses nozzle. Great, great job!
Also, you managed the horse's gaze really well, i like it a lot. Shows the focus, and looks very realistic.
The horse's chest area looks a bit flat. I think, if you followed the shape with the pencil strokes, instead of flat straight shading, that could give it a serious boost. Hope you know, what i mean.
Coz the detail and general structure is just amazing. I think, once you got the "following-shapes-with-your-pencil-strokes", your work will be very, very close to perfection of realistic drawings.
Respect.i think drawing a loved one FOR a loved one is beautiful.
so is the drawing, fantastic

I'm not sure how you could possible add more detail than it already has. I'm going to enjoy this piece for a long time! I hope others will too.
