This is excellent! Cross-hatching is a great way to get a range of values with ink, but it often flattens a drawing and robs it of depth. The way you've done it, with tapering and curved lines, is very dynamic and lively. It's a very effective technique you've got going here. Are the very faint lines in pencil?
