Ines was born and raised in a brothel. Her mother was a sex worker and Ines was an accident. Be that as it was, her mother loved her dearly and as did the other workers. They worked hard to protect her innocence from the work they performed and as such Ines was blissfully unaware of her strange raising until she was older. When she's twelve a high-ranking member of the royal guard enters the brothel. He wants her mother but finds Ines instead. He attacks her. Her mother finds her and strives to protect her. The guard throws an oil lamp at the ground and the oil gets on Ines burning her face, arm and half her torso. It also burns the guard. After that everything is blurry to Ines. She remembers the pain of healing. She's told her mother is dead and the guard is injured but demanding justice. She's healed as best they can and then forced to flee. On the run, Ines picks up how to fish and trap. She looks after her own wounds and jumps town to town, pick pocketing if she can. she never stays long, her scarring and bright hair make it impossible to blend in for too long. As it is, the law is gaining on her. She knows she's running out of time, and if she's caught...its her word against a guardsman. She'll be hanged for sure. They catch up to her in Paris and she flees into Notre Dame and calls out sanctuary. Like they did Esmeralda, they post a guard at every door. the guard who attacked her sneaks into the cathedral and attacks her once more. He wants revenge for his own scarring despite her scars being far more severe. Quasimodo enters then, rescuing her from the mad man and bringing her to the belltower.

Quasi is 1 year older than Ines so he's 25, making it 5 years past the events of the movie. Ines resides in the tower debating on her options. Quasimodo reassures her she can stay as long as she likes. The two bond over past traumas and wine, Playing a drinking game at night. She spends a few weeks in the tower, and the two fall in love.

That's all I'll say for now! Oh and she has two children, Aster and Rosemary!
