Description
EDIT: Updated version. Added a little bit more sharpness to the feathers and detailed the head a little bit, but also preserved the original aspect of the image. This was done because i entered it for approval in expose 8Hope you still like it

Hello again, no time no see. I've been busy but here's one for you awesome people. I tried to imagine the well-known Phoenix bird in my own way, so i drawn this swan-like creature with a long tail and huge wings. Phoenix is also known as the Firebird but I think it's because of the beautiful colors it has.. and actually not because its made of fire.
So.. between reality and fantasy, i guess this is the way Phoenix looks like.
Aniways.. it took long hours.. sketch was drawn on A4 paper then painted over in Photoshop CS2.

Wow this is amazing.
And the firebird/phoenix legends vary widely from one part and place in history from another. I believe that the ones that actually catch on fire were arabic... although I could very well be wrong about that.

this is just absolutely gorgeous!
elegant, flowing, and smooth. the details on the feathers really catch my eye, as well as the glowing bits here and there.

to be honest with its great that you though out side of the box rather than thinking of the usual details of fire and ash which the phoenix is usually drawn by others instead drawing it with features of a swan makes perfect sence as both are connected to beaty and elegance so combining the two makes sence as said the picture is really beatifully done and a well deserved 1000+ favs AND and well deserved DD
