Just a bunch of sketches from back in november/december, when I was obsessing over Astro Boy. Figured I'd upload them because I'm still quite happy with how they all turned out.All images were copied from screenshots of episodes of the 2003 anime. Mostly the first and last episodes.
Tobio is practically cuter than Astro. XD

I have perfected my Astro from the 2009 movie...but I'm still trying to draw this one. The 2003 cartoon is sooo much cuter! :3

To see the Astro Boy 2003 series in subs, go here [link] the subs are not very good, but you can view every episode except for the first 2 Pluto episodes, and 1 relatively boring episode (Robot Boy)

I really love the American version, but I can certainly see why people wouldn't like it.
I'm surprised more people don't know about this site, it was featured on a prominent youtube channel before the channel got taken down a bit ago.

But really I do wish they had kept some scenes in. We never get to see Tobio dead in the American version; they made it look like he had ran away. (I've always wondered if there are fanfic writers who don't know about the others, and don't know Tobio died. Potentially awkward.)

That is the only one I can understand; from what I've gathered something in the episode Eternal Boy was "surrounded in legal red tape" so to speak. So they replaced it with some clip show.
At least we get to hear some narcissistic self-praise from Tenma then, right...?

I honestly thought the last two episodes had the best voice acting. Even if his voice was deeper, I thought it was better suited to the animation.
This may be because I watched 2003 before any other version, and for a longer time than any other version.
