EDIT:So tumblr found this again (Now finally on tumblr ). Love your comments, guys, but I don't have time to respond to every single one. ;[
Please accept my <3 and apologies if I don't respond to your comment, I'm truly thankful for everyone swinging by and sharing their thoughts.
Updated the text arrangement because it was confusing to read and why didn't I catch it earlier?
I was inspired after discussing my Dis (Fili's and Kili's mum) painting with
Tried to experiment here with lettering - different styles for different 'accents' of each character's native tongue, if you will. Also hands. Drawing someone braiding hair is pretty good finger/hand practice. As well as confusing and difficult.
For those curious to see my beardy Dis:

Haha, perfect! Though I wonder why the dwarf would make that mistake - after all, to her, having no beard is not more feminine than having a beard. She shouldn't just have assumed that elves are the same as humans!
(And now I want to see a comic where she apologizes to the Elf guy. ^^)

This....is....amazing. I love it. That poor elf guy... XD
I like the subtle feminine qualities in the dwarf chick; ditto to the slightly leaning androgyny of the elf.
Well done!

Absolutely hilarious! And good point the dwarf lady makes that humans are the ones who perceive they are un feminine. Reminds me of the different cultures in real life and what we are raised to perceive as beauty.Β

I thought this was going to be about something else, then I saw the ending. Β Very good, I really enjoy this. I love how you draw the dwarven women by the way and the elven men. Β Β

Welcome! Β
The only way I could be angry is if she didn't have a beard.
I can't understand why people get angry over dwarven women having one. The dwarven men have beautiful hair and beards, so why not the women. It's like, they're not human, quit comparing them to that race.
But, I love how you draw them, seriously, they seem to be very strong, but still have that hint of femininity to them. It works. Β

Hahaha, that's awesome.
That reminds me of something this past summer: we were out in out Viking garb at a feast with the kids, my pre-teen son (who has longish hair) in a tunic and pants, his little sister in a dress--and a fellow feast attendee, on the way out the door, says to us, "Both you girlies look really nice in your outfits tonight!"
And my son, who is getting fed up with being mistaken for a girl, says, "I'm not a girl!"
So the guy (nice older gentleman) says, "Oops, sorry; 'young lady'." XD
Poor son.

That's a yes. I have seriously thought through this scenario after seeing the movies and came to the conclusion that this is entirely plausible and possible.
