A vector is an image that is made up of mathematical lines. Basically we use the pen tool in Photoshop and drop line after line till it comes out how we want, or just trace the image. there are several guides on vectoring on DA you just have to use the search function.

Generally each vector takes a day or two to do dependent on how much I work on it but actual work time is between 2-3 hours, dependent on the pony some are harder than others to do, but that is the general feel of it. Everyone has different ways of Vectoring and also do it at different paces so for everyone it will be a different amount of time. As for your second question, no, Vectoring is fairly straight foreword, the hardest part of it is making the colors stream-less at high resolutions.
