Description
Ancient Protector in PersuitConte and White-out on Paper (17"x22")
He protects the forest.
I love trees, so moving trees are the next natural step. I didn't have any reference for this except for his hands, I looked at my own.

Aye with conte and white out for the highlights. (If your interested) - Cretacolor makes 5.6mm sticks of conte with a slightly higher wax content (pretty sure its wax because oil wouldn't be archival). A lot of other conte's are too dusty to have any type of line control over and so the drawings turn out tonal and incorporate almost no line.
Draftsman back in the day like Greuze used conte more along the lines of the kind that Cretacolor makes, which for some reason virtually no one else makes.
Thanks for the kind words

There's something really cool about a brown scene with some wood char in a forest.
I think it's how everything seems the same.
Very cool indeed.
Congrats!

Awesome, monochrome scenes are a fav of mine, almost too much so, so i started going nuts with color to try to get away from too much of it :0 Thanks for the kind words
