For some reason when I think of hell I imagine the nicest gates ever, kind of like a palace gate mixed with a Casino's front door, and really sparkly.

Can you elaborate on this? Is it the palette, the building shapes, the composition, the content, etc? I'm totally open to critique, so you would be helping me out if you could

When I look at it I see a forgotten and left valley with a mysterious castle built into the rock.
The light is too "bright", this makes the image look a bit warm and friendly. If it were a bit darker with dark clouds in the sky or the whole thing could be at night. The glowing red light from underneath could now throw shadows upwards, that makes the whole gate look much more dangerous and it really would make it looking much bigger and mighty. And out of the gate himself you could see a frightening light.
And look at the road. It seems that Satan has somebody who sweeps the street for him, because it looks like it is very clean. You may add some dust, stones and skulls to it.
I really like the unfocused foreground. That really seems to be perfect.
And what does the 33 mean? Is that the number of Satans house? Or is it Gate 33?
βOh I have a letter for Mr. Satan here, Road to Hell 33 in The Valley of Death. Itβs hard to find the mailbox there, if you go there the first time.β
The building itself has a good structure. Satan has a great achitect.
A question: Whatβs that thing in the sky.
And the fat man at the wall makes it really look good.
So far for this one. I hope my critique helps a bit. ^^
