Thanks and the camera is great, a lot of choice on settings manual included and I can still use RAW, and after my baptism with the Nikon D50 things are falling into place quite quickly.

Thanks for the comment. Yes we have had quite a lot of snow here in Sussex, more than we had for a very long time. It's lovely and bright this afternoon with blue skies. Went into the woods nearby yesterday and the photos I took the snow blended with the sky quite wierd.

You never know you might be lucky, just bring your thermals. We haven't had this much snow in a long time. It lasted for about a week and now I think we are due another cold snap at the end of the week

Yes I'll bring lots of layers. We are there for 7 weeks so hope to see some spring weather at some point.

Thank you, not only trying out the new camera but the software that goes with it. My old software doesn't recognisethe new camera much. I think I need to upgrade to Windows 7(:

Haven't you a CD to install it?

The only CD's were software to acquire and edit photos. I only have XP which is quite old now. I'm sure Window 7 would probably recognise it better. There were no drivers if that's what you are thinking about. My Nikon D50 didn't have any drivers either. My computer does recognise I have connected via USB.
