(Another early) experiment in CGing - using the dodge tool and adding a rain effect. For the rain, I used a combo of filters - 'add noise' (mono), 'fresco', and 'motion blur'. Fresco was used to lessen the amount of 'white specs' on the mono noise and thus it gave me less condensed 'rain drops' in the end.Before I started cging I could see the anatomy problems (not to mention CG). :\ Still, I like the pose I've done.
Samus is great.
(note: I deliberately enlarged the shoulder guards because....it's cool. XD )

I always liked Samus. A girl in a power suit, that's just awesome. That aside, this is pretty great. The rain is wonderful against the orange, and I appreciate the explanation you gave of how it was made. I agree that you shouldn't worry about anatomy problems. A suit like that shouldn't exist in the first place. Can anyone tell me the explanation for the weight?

Don't worry about the anatomy problems xD the Power Suit doesn't have an accurate anatomy after all.
Only way you could wear it if that if you waist organs are tiny and your arms separated from your body.
That's why Samus apply it like if it comes from her skin

Theres got to be SOMEWHERE to store all her energy packs and all those misssiles, right? I'd say they're in those honking shoulder armor spheres, anyone else agree?
I love this piece, the exaggerated perspective and shoulder pads, the rain and lighting, the cartoony yet realistic feel. I would add some glow and the rifling insode the arm cannon, though.

try thinner or more hard to see outlines the couloring is great but the outline arround it kills it,still very nice job

I know you've heard ppl talking about this but yeah the shoulders were a bit big. Not only that a slightly up curved visor would help. An experiment, but good except for those minor things
