This is a reference sheet about the anatomy of the blood elves of Astara (no this is not WoW, I had the name years before WoW so please don't comment about that - thank you!) I made it for better explaining the people of the blood elves and their appearance to those who are interested in my rpg - system.

The Blood Elves

Background

The blood elves belong to the dark elves. These elves decided to start a new life during the war of the gods and went to the surface from the underdark. To show that they really want to leave everything behind, they chose to worship Arogon - The new god of the day and the light from now on. After generations, they turned into the blood elves and Arogon is still a big religious part of their culture. The folk has two additional sub-genetics to the normal one and albinism can happen.

The blood elves got their name from the area they live in, a kingdom called Bloodstone. The kingdom was named like that because of the red stones that get an intense red when the sun is shining on it. Bloodstone is part of the continent Redlands (Rotlande) a continent of vulcanoes, black and red sand deserts, sandstone mountains and a small area of green mountain planes and woods. Bloodstone lies in the south-east of the Redlands beneath the big red desert in the middle of the redlands and right beside the woodlands of Redvalley. It is mostly a sandstone mountain area with some plain coast areas.

The true name of the blood elves and usually they call themselves like that is Nahinra what is a derivate of the old dark elven word Nahinrarah what means something like what comes from the dark

Variances

The Ahdmenun-Blood
sub-genetic - pic 1
from the blood elven words "Ahdmen Nunua" what means something like "sand of copper" - cause this genetic variance usually appears in the north, where the sand gets shiny like polished copper

The Mardan-Blood
sub-genetic - pic 2
from the blood elven word for Ocean "Mardah" - cause this genetic variance usually appears on the south-east coast

Albinism
genetic defect - pic 3
Albinos are a little bit sensitive to sunlight, but not too much cause it is no full lost of pigments. But they are very sensitive to their environment, a blood elven albino usually has about 10 allergies or more. Albinos are normal treated in the culture of the blood elves but of course they find them fascinating. There are about 10 births per year with this defect 2 of 3 are female.
