There is a new emperor in the galaxy! - I always loved the ending in Return of the Jedi of Darth Vader's redemption to the light side, but the imagination of an alternative ending with Vader overthrowing his master and Luke joining him tickles my nerves everytime!Related content

Palpatine is betrayed, Vader becomes the new emperor, and his son joins him as the two unstoppable Sith father and son, ready to wreck havoc on the galaxy...
...then their Death Star gets blown up lol.

So even if Palpatine is dead, the guy can still summon force lightning from his cold dead hands !!

Supposedly, Palpatine had elements built into Vader's life-support suit that could be activated with the press of a button that would render his suit's shutdown and Vader would suffocate on toxic gas in his resperator. Palpatine was paranoid but knew if he didn't manage some control over Vader that he would eventually turn on him like Count Dooku tried to do.

Always wondered why he didn't grab the saber Luke chucked away in spite and literally backstabbed Palpatine while he gloated over Luke as he slowly killed him. Just more convenient for the plot of the film that he didn't. It would have been a different, much cooler movie. But that's my opinion.
