This was heavily inspired by Atlantis: The Lost Empire.I re-watched it yesterday (yes, I'm re-watching all Disney's classics) and got completely blown away. I didn't realize as a kid how fucking amazing it is. It's heavily underrated, seriously. The animation is brilliant, characters, facial expressions, everything got me woesihgjoeihjeiorh. So yeah, I really felt like drawing something that fits my Atlantis/Avatar mood, thus I made these two characters.
He is Amadahy (forest water) and she is Maka (earth).
They may or may not be a couple. :> :>
I had loads of fun drawing them and thought I'd give it a cartoony feel to the whole piece.

Oh man the moment I saw the thumbnail, I went immediately to Atlantis. You captured their style very well I think~
But yess Atlantis was always one of my top favourite Disney movies, but I could never relate them with anyone because no one knew about it. I thought they had a really nice take on a used-before plot and the characters were really nice too!!
I really like their tattoos and how her necklace is like the fire/lightning bugs they used as lights : D

Haha, it is definitely underrated. I was obsessed as a child, and am still slightly obsessed. I still pull out my 10 year old computer games to play every once in a while.

I know what you mean when watching some Disney movies when you were younger, you don't really realize the good ones until you are older. I did that with this movie too. I also really enjoy Treasure Planet now that I'm older too.

I could immediately tell where the inspiration came from. I really love the male's lips! They are very sexy. And her tattoos and her blue are another favorite part of mine. Atlantis should certainly get more love than it currently it does. That movie was wicked awesome!

Interesting! I remember liking Atlantis when I saw it as a kid, but I haven't seen it recently. It's widely regarded as one of Disney's "dark ages" films.
Just looked up some clips on youtube and the animation seems sort of stiff, not energized enough.
But your drawing is neat. I love the color palette. Bright blue + grey + yellow-green is always nice.

Atlantis is definitely one of my favorite Disney animations, along with Treasure Planet, Lilo & Stitch, The Black Cauldron, The Emperor's New Groove, & Tarzan. Of course I love all the classics too...from when I was really young.
If you like Atlantis....have you seen Titan AE???? You must see it, if not.

I agree, the movie Atlantis is so underrated. We even named our dog Kida, after the main girl character. Anyways, cool picture. I was reminded of Atlantis before I even read it in the description. :]
