painting alla prima, huh? this is how I usually paint.

Nice change between gradient shadows and surfaces values, you can tell it's clay.

The painterly look at the bottom really do the trick more than just a gaussian blur.

I love this movie it is on top of my list, I grew up watching this and my mother thought I was weird, she thought the movie was creepy but I just loved it. Any who, I love the shading and how she is presented in this work great job

That movie made me cry at the end. Victor belonged to Emily. 
But either way, it was a brilliant movie. 
Oh and the drawing is really good. The way you made those shards shine against the black background is absolutely stunning and the lighting is brilliant too.
