Skiwsgaar brings the life but does not car, Toki brings the death and DOES care

(i.e. the mass paternity and Skiwsgaar's lack of feeling about it, vs. the people in Toki's life that dies - his father, guitar teacher and the little girl - and his obvious feelings of horror and remourse/mourning)

This really should be the other way around in logical terms, since Toki is empathetic and should be a life-giver, while Skwisgaar is a God, does not care about others and therefore should be a bringer of death. But they are stuck in their roles by a very unforgiving world, but there is hope as they each also give a glimpse of their opposite traits (Toki has an exceptionally dark side, Skwisgaar is shown caring about various members of the group when he's not careful)

It's an exceptional piece, and only bested by the Nouveau set. Bravo

I love trying to figure the characters out, particularly Toki and Skwisgaar's relationship since the fans sort-of obsess over it (and I'm slowly watching the episodes, I need the damn DVDs!). From the first time I saw Toki I wanted to give him a hug and I didn't know why.

THEN I read his Wiki and ... Holy crackers I want to hug him more. Toki and Skwisgaar are opposites yet similar; they both have a traumatic relationship with their parents, and this may have a hand in why Skiwsgaar is so (apparently, we all saw him cry in Skwisklok) numb and distances himself from the others, while Toki wants to be with others and is sociable

I know ;_; But it's NOW debuted on the Adult Swim site; I watched a soundless version yesterday and ... holy hell. Uh. God. Toki's dark side scares the crap out of me but I still wanna go all Mama Grizzly on him and protect him with hugs

Well it does make sense. Skwisgaar spawning more and more life on the planet while Toki continues to take it.
I approve!

...But poor Toki

The symbolism is great. Toki is the bringer of death, everything he loves dies, where Skwissgaar in contrast spreds his seed far and wide delivering life unto the world.
This is very nice and relevant to the new season.
