Ah, that defining period in our history. That crossroads after a long journey of successes as well as horror, but pride and hope above all!
It's unfortunate that this was the price the Serbs had to pay for merely wanting to do what the Germans did already - unite, build a sovereign future, and achieve the freedom to pursue their destiny.Β
And despite the gruesome punishment, the Serbs had their dream within their grasp in 1918, but instead of building a Dalmatian border with our Italian neighbors, we chose a different path. The rest is history and here we are, vassals of broken spirit in the end. We'll see what the future brings, but I worry it won't be good.Β Β

I always admire your country,Β indomitable, defeated but never bent, the broken dream of the great Stefan Dusan, then poisoned by cowardly enemies, the sad and epic battle of Kosovo Polije, the victory in the Balkan wars, the fierce resistance to the Austrian invasion, the resistance of the partisans. You are still the wild and pulsating heart of a puffy and soft Europe.Β History is long, andΒ it's not over yet.

Considering the location of the country, i would say it's pretty much expected that Serbia suffered high casualties during most of the wars. Serbia has a centralized location southeastern Europe, no access to sea and never been a powerful state. Despite all that Serbians has always been good warriors, as mercenaries or regular soldiers!

No, emiliano-romagnolo 100% - Β is that I've great respect for serbian, Β I admire theirΒ tenacity on the verge of obstinacy, Β Austria knew it, and populated by Serbs her limes with the Turks, so we have the Krajinas in leopard spots with various recent problems.

And your work, in documenting the activity of those men, serves to educate the new generations. To admire the efforts of our ancestors to survive, or to learn how to not repeat their cruelties and their madness. My compliments to you!
