Description
Commissioned painting. The aim was to portray a magical forest. I drew inspirations from a lot of places but I believe Fangorn and Sintra, fictional and real, are what influenced me the most. I love forests...fantasy is inherent to them. I don't know if it's the green tones, the wind blowing through the trees or the fresh air...there is just something special about them.I also took a lot of inspiration from the beautiful paintings by master painter Peder Mork Monsted

Such a magical atmosphere. I love how you put that little guy in there to give the viewer a sense of the hugeness of the trees. This reminds me of a scene in Lord of the Rings, where the hobbits are lost in the wood and Gandalf appears, though the trees here are very different, more ominous-looking with those branches sticking up like fingers or tentacles. Love your painting style. Inspirational!

Wow...it really gives a feeling of awe and amazement. I love the tone of the picture and how the light is used to bring out the tree and the man beside it. Everything looks great here, I love it!

I love how twisted and dramatically angled this tree is! The light really adds to the drama, as well. And the ground is crooked! Too cool.

Oooh my kind of forest.. on a really sunny day I can imagine the magic sparkles, even the mossy smell. Hear whispers between the branches, and silently wonder what's going on..
Superb.

Fantastic atmospherics!
Like the added touch of the birds flying through β makes the painting alive and active.

You really hit both the light and the off center directionality of the painting. There is something very circular about it. Every now and then one comes across a piece of art that I know can teach me something if I just sit and stare at it long enough, trying to unlock it's secrets. You did that with this painting. Nice piece of work, Noah.
