Description
Commissioned painting. The aim was to portray a magical forest. I drew inspirations from a lot of places but I believe Fangorn and Sintra, fictional and real, are what influenced me the most. I love forests...fantasy is inherent to them. I don't know if it's the green tones, the wind blowing through the trees or the fresh air...there is just something special about them.I also took a lot of inspiration from the beautiful paintings by master painter Peder Mork Monsted

I like how the ground seems to be rising up on the sides, like the forest will turn into a tunnel and swallow him up at any moment. Very mysterious, great work.

Whoa, the feeling looking at this painting is between admiration and terror, the place looks magical but that forest seem quite mysterious...

It definitely looks as if it could be a magical forest, or perhaps a sinister one. The trees are very gnarly and the ground looks soft and mossy like a real forest that gets little light. Those could be birds or bats flying.
I love forests, too, and often take walks in them, especially when its raining. Very nice work! No choice but to fave.

I love it! It has a sense of forbideness in it, that you can only see, not touch.... it reminds me of the Hobbit by Tolkien when they were lost in the forest. good job!
