Description
Hey guys, thank you so much for the great response on my last deviation guys! I read all your comments!
Had a few hours to kill at work today so I did this Dylan Coleish mattepaint/concept cityscape. Hope you like it!
Plate: [link]
EDIT: The title is more of a Dream Theater reference, don't plan on making a part 2.

What a beautiful city-scape...
Think it's in our near future? Or a million years down the road?
Anything's possible I suppose.
Amazing work; keep it up!

I'm such a sucker for futuristic cities... Thus, an instant !!!
You should do more cities or something. I love urban life.

This is just.. OMG
I really adore this effect that you made on ships.. Like they're moving.. Didn't see much of that eff. on digital paintings.
And love the title

Dear lord, you DREW this?
Can you give me some advice? Like, how you learn do details? Is it something you've learned from observation, or... how does it work? I've had so much trouble with work like this. I'm incapable of doing it at this point in time, though I keep trying.
This is amazingly detailed, I love how you've done it. It looks so, real...

It's interesting in that the buildings seem to grow more technological based as it approaches the center of the piece.

Wonderful piece here. I think what's most remarkable about this piece is the way you transition modern day buildings and architecture with futuristic ones. It gives it a very realistic and believable feel.

Reminds me a bit of City 17 in Half Life 2 (a large citadel tower in the middle of a 90s-00s city).
Awesome work. How 00s and the future mix in a cityscape (referring to large towers and the normal looking flat houses in the foreground) looks nifty here. (You could do a part 2 by the way, more from a ground view looking at the distant towers would be cool. )

Pretty damn awesome! I think the old buildings are a nice touch. Sci-fi artists always seem to forget that old buildings don't magically disappear when a set of new ones is built next to them.
