Well, beings you're answering all of our questions; How do you get the colors you use? Basically, in every one of your paintings, you have great colors and they seem to match the other colors very nicely in terms of lighting and such. I was just wondering how you get your colors to look and match with the photorealistic setings you draw?
Maybe another tutorial is in order, lol.

I wish I could explain it but I can't. It totally depends on what kind of painting I'm working on. I'll try to make a new vid tutorial when I get back to sweden

Cool man, thanks a lot.
It's a tough question to word actually, and therefor very tough to get my point across. I, more or less, would like to know what process you go through to get your colors and make them fit in the painting. I think it's more of a photoshop thing, if anything else, and me not knowing how to work it 100%.
Thanks again.

nice and LOTR dark and dangerous sir, i like it!
if i had to critique, i'd say maybe bring the ash cloud over to the left a little more just to bring the vibrant colours into that grey space

Andree, to make u feel good... i check DA from time to time only to check if u have posted any new drawings. I use your drawings for my own insperation. I watch your movies on youtube to practise the way how u set up a drawing. I dont want o stick a fist in your ass here ans suck up.. i thought couse if u use this tread as a social post.. i give u a social comment!
Keep it up and if u like..make some more video's. They are extremly interesting and for peeps like me a nice way to learn. I know i can draw, i feel i can draw.. what only buggers me so much is having uber control on programs like painter x and photoshop!
hey ps Andree.. good news. CS4 Photoshop wil have a canvas that can be turned!
Cya Andree!
Cheers, Roy from Holland (a fan)

Photoshop, dunno, since I changed the motif several times it's hard to put a number on it.. 5 hours perhaps

Nowadays, you just canΒ΄t draw a volcano without referring to Mt.Doom.... so sad...
Okay, i wonΒ΄t let the oppertunity slip!
When you begin a new pic, do you...
... sketch outlines or block in shapes directly?
... beginn with the bg and work to the fg?
... use many or less layers?
... paint in grayscale first or apply colors directly?
Could go on like this for hours, but that would ruin our chance of ever having another q/a-session i guess
...oh, and great artwork again!

AndreeWallin In reply to BlueRogueVyse [2008-09-30 13:45:12 +0000 UTC]
thanks! sketched up the whole scene in grayscale and then applied patches from different photos, started with the background yep. When I work with photos I keep everything pretty desaturated, making sure everything has the same values and highlights before I start coloring.
