Description
I was, as part of my job, asked to do a Shadowy Vampires Face design for a Tee Shirt. It went through several incarnations before it was finally dropped and given to another Artist later on.It doesn't happen often, but its annoying when it does. But, I thought you might be interested to see the stages it went through. I also did a Front print design, which was used.
Heres Version 2.

IF SOMEONE GAVE YOU CREDIT ON A BOOK COVER WOULD YOU ALLOW THEM TO USE ONE OF YOUR DIGITAL PRINTS-PARTICULARLY THE SHADOW VAMPIRE VERSION 2? If not, then would you want to be compensated in order to use it. Email me here as soon as possibleΒ or atΒ sandysatta@yahoo.com

That does depend, what are you asking for?

Greta work. I wished it looked a little more like a real facial expression like the digital pics but this is great. You guys are SO talented. I'd break a finger to be able to do what you do on my computer. This would make a swell cover for any vampire novel. It looks intense and that's a lot better than most of the same ol, same ol digital prints I see with the moon and a tree and a wolf or the grim reaper standing like a statue. This stands out-nice work.

Err, yes...
See the earlier conversation I had with Elandra.
That image (and others) was used as insperation. I was shown that image (and others) and told to do something similar by the commissioning company. Version 2 of the design idea was quite similar to the image in your link, I make no bones about that, but it was one stage in a process to get to something different. I thought people would be interested to see that process.
This happens a hell of a lot in the Art Business.
I can't count the number of times I have been shown an Artwork or Photograph and been told, 'We like this, so we want something similar,' or 'Like this, but change this and that'.
As an artist it can be frustrating because you want to do something original and totally your own idea, but when your paid to do something, you do as your told, otherwise you dont get paid. Its that simple.

Not surprising really, thats where the idea came from for the side light version. I was given that picture and asked for 'something like this'. But it evolved and changed and ended up as a full face when it was finally done by the second Artist.
