I love the image and note that you've produced two versions of it. That got me thinking, as the subject movement seems to leave the image a whisker short of 'erfect' to me.
I hope that you don't mind, as it's not something that I often do, bu I've had a little play in Photoshop, along the lines of what I would have done if it was my image [link] I've added a second layer, equalized it, added gaussian blur at 10 pixels ald set the normal laayer at 40% opacity. I then sharpened the bottom layer (unsharp mask: 150/0.8/0) and finally added grain to the flattened image. It might no be any better, but was more of what I had in mind!

OMG, that's stunning. I think you made a good decision unsharpening it. It really fits this photograph.
Awesome..

stunning... i like that it is unsharpened... it gives the viewer the point of view of the girl running.... as if nothing is certain or well-defined. she is trying to escape reality and blur its lines.

I love the stormy feel, the texture and the amazing focus. The model is real suited to this. So emotive. You could wonder what she is running from, but I reckon she is running for an ice cream.

brilliant work, congratulations really gives me the feeling of timelessness, with a slight leaning to gothic history

A nice comparison
I like this one peronally... the gaining in the other pic is a bit unnatural.. and I'm a great fan of natural/original film grain...
/cheers

I like this one better, the noise isn't as visible as in the sharpened one. Cool idea too

i don't think there is much in focus here - the front lens element was covered in raindrops and it was nearly dar.....I don't mind that there is no real sharpness to it, as it is meant to evoke mood and emotion.
As i often say, I make images from the heart and my heart is not sharp, so why should my pictures be?

i still like the first one, i think the grain adds an almost "movie scene" feel to the photo. If im making any sense

I really like this. Is hard to find where the focus is, and that makes it more interesting. Love her pose and all the mood created. Really good.

Like this one better.
Would look good with a closeup next to it, like she is "running into focus"..

I agree with ~DaBorgne . I prefer the non-shaprened verions as weill. The emaphasis of the "grain" in the sharpened version, I feel, detracts from, rather than adds to the mood of the shot.
