It's in four days, but the series has technically already started airing (Big Nick aired the premiere of the first episode just yesterday as a sneak peek) and I am in need of some fresh art in my gallery. These are drawn in my own style, not the one in the show, however, I certainly used it as a starting point. All the rest of the students in the background are actual extras, and some even get speaking roles in upcoming episodes.I unintentionally made the structure of the image about the same as this: [link] , another show from the same studio. That was a coincidence.

Hey..since people on here are Speed Racer: The Next Generation fans--I was wondering..do any of you know how to tell Jared and Jesse apart? I know sometimes they wear different racing outfits, but other than that, I am completely stumped...

Jared and Jesse have different outfits (Jesse is the one with the green hoodie under the jacket). Also, Jared's voice is the deeper, cooler one, while Jesse's is basically Mikey Simon if he were a thug.

Haha..Mikey as a thug..lol. Okay, I guess I'll just try to pay closer attention to their voices then, because I know, like, at least in one episode I saw, their outfits were a little different, but still quite a bit alike if you see them from far away. Thanks for the info though.

In the pilot and a few other places, Sinterniklaas gets their voices switched up by mistake. Nothing too big.

I thought I did find one way to tell them apart though. Jesse is the one who has a skull on his helmet and various times on his clothes, at least in this new season. But also though I've seen the animation be mixed up and it was the other way around, but I've only seen this happen in, like, one scene, so it was probably accidental. I don't really think the people who made them can even tell them apart..lol! One thing's sure though--no doubt they are indentical twins, because I don't think any pair of twins could ever look more alike if they tried..haha.

In the character model sheets, they clearly showed what differences in appearance they have, and we were supposed to go by those, but with the schedule we had, there were bound to be a few mistakes.

Not anymore. It wrapped a long time ago. We only did up to layout for the first season, and the second season, we didn't even animate anything.

That's pretty cool that you worked on it though. No wonder the picture you posted looks so much like the show's artwork. You've had A LOT of practice with drawing the characters..lol!

honestly i like the other 2 shows better (kappa mikey and 3way delivery and yes they do come from the same co. and creator larry shwarz) but the show is pretty good even though i cant watch it anymore (you can only see it with satelite t.v.)

You know, the second season is currently airing. Larry's studio had nothing to do with the animation for it this time, though, as we had to outsource it to save money.

i love this show its really awesome i guess nicktoon is trying to put anime in there programing because theres this new anime ahow coming soon i forgot its name but you can clearly tell the "speed racer:the next generation" is anime but the show is really kool....i love the art work and the angle

Anime is defined in America as animation produced in and for Japan, so nothing Nicktoons Network has aired so far is logically considered true anime. But yes, Nick in general needs more shows like Avatar!
