battery boxes are behind cab on short hood end, it's a RS-3. RS-2 had the battery boxes under the frame

These diesels were the first diesels bought by the Carolina & North-Western Railroad in March 1948, these were the same diesels that ended the steam era that year too. They served the C&N-W until the early 1970s.
