I can see the likeness.
And man...I'm sure he can pull the role off, but my first thought from this idea was, "You got Sherlock Holmes, you got Khan, you got the dragon from The Hobbit, you're likely going to be in Star Wars...don't take Batman, you gotta learn to share your geek roles."

Yea, he's my first choice for a new Batman. While I'm sure Affleck will do great- Cumberbatch exudes intelligence and then Khan showed he can do fight scenes and beat people to death with his bare hands on top of that icey cold stare and the baritone voice. Perfect formula for Batman!
I think adding this role to his roster would put him up there with guys like Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving, even Robert Downey Jr. as guys that play such iconic roles. It'd be great!
