Description
More photos from this superb bamboo grove: [link]With the density of the forest, light was scarce. The lead image of this post was exposed at 1/20 sec, ISO 200 and I still had to boost the exposure on the computer after the fact. To photographers looking for a killer shot, I suggest you schedule Arashiyama for a whole morning when the forecast looks sunny. Bring your tripod and a book.

Hi,
I would like to use your image for high-res print.
Please advise if I can do so.
Thank you,

thank you eternal-araelys. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. Would you mind giving me a bit more feedback... ^_^ What about my shot really compels you? Also, what one thing could use improvement? No answer is a wrong answer
Cheers!
Andrew

What compels me is that it looks like a path in a different world.. I like seeing things I've never seen before and if tinted right, it would look like it were a path through the sea.
What could use improvement from my limited knowledge is the light, but I doubt it could be helped as the trees are so thick. The colors are a wee bit bland, but otherwise it is very good

In low light conditions, I actually prefer an ISO around 80 and longer shutter times to reduce the noise as much as possible... ohh and a 2 sec timer so I'm not touching the camera when the shutter goes off.
I hate boosting exposure post-process, it usually doesn't look as good, but you did and excellent job on this one

Same here. Exactly. However, with no tripod handy, you gots to do what you gots to do or suffer coming back with nothing. Better high ISO with noisy shots than no shots I think.

Well, I couldn't resist adding this photo to our weekly feature, there is a sense of motion leading the eye beyond what's in the frame, and the composition is outstanding. You can find the #Photographers-Online weekly news feature here: [link]

Nice irregular geometry - sort of zen feel to the whole composition.. the eye is drawn in and along multiple lines and I love the light coming from around the corner. Beautifully judged timing on this shot I feel.

To be honest no - because I find that usually if there is something not quite right with a pic it strikes you immediately and jars. With your pic it is just peaceful and harmonious and has a 'rightness'. Also what I like about it is that it looks effortless .. there is no photographer 'presence' in the photo which, to me, is a good thing.

Very beautiful. I'll probably have to wait for another lifetime before I can make it to that location.
