Description
This is an older piece I have re-worked and added the abstract effect. I feel the piece has a lot more vitality now that the characters identity is hidden. Ideally at the time I created this piece in 2010 I wanted to depict someone without identity (just a consumer for McDonalds idea). However with this effect I have captured the ambiance of the McDonalds 'arena' I wanted originally back in 2010.. I am happy with it nowI am looking at the contrast between hyper-realism and complete abstract forms. The way the mind obtains visual information with faultless obedience at the same time can throw it into ignorance with the minds eye.
The subconscious vs the conscious on an intuitive level of the mind, to see a complete picture without incomprehension is unrealistic.
The aesthetic of my new work looks at the hand in hand projection of the minds thought process combined with the visualization gathered from the eye alone.

Took me 5 minutes to realize it was a painting, now it's gonna take me 5 more to understand the abstract...

Congrats on the DD, but unfortunately I just dont get it. Maybe its just that I dont have an "artistic" mindset, although art is an expression and that in itself is just opinion. It looked great as it was before the abstractness, but now it just looks like an accident or like a child got into the paint set

And thats what I like, the accident part. I like the idea it looks like a freak accident on the canvas from an outside source. Like a laceration to the plane of the canvas, and the realism is exposed for its true medium.
I wanted it to look like hyper concentration and benightedness on the same image.

I'm lovin' it!
Makes me think further, and also reminds me of a painter who worked in hyperrealistic style and after he finished the picture, he added abstract lines or paint stais to draw attention to the painting process itself instead of just showing "reality". I like the concept a lot!
