It would definitely fit more of the Disney pattern if Makucha were darker, since the villains tend to have a darker color palette. He's kind of an oddball for being so light.

I personally thought that his color palette (along with the other leopards in the series) should've been much closer to the color palette of the leopard Sabor in Tarzan.

Sabor was a jaguar actually

No she isn't. Jaguars are native to South America and Central America. And Tarzan takes place in western Africa. So Sabor would have to be a Leopard.
