The first view is breath-taking! You did a great job on this one... But for me it's kind of confusing. First the island is so black, dat gives you a 'dark' feeling. On the other had you have the water in front that makes you feel like it should be a picture of a magical island.

For me on the left there is some kind of tree over te coast, I should have left that one out.

I'm nog sure, but it feels like you didn't make a choice between 'fancy' and 'dark', next time, maybe that is something you could consider.

There is te option with the dark clouds, but for some reason I should expect darker water (like in the back of the picture).

If you're going for 'fancy' crap a lot from the picture, focus on the colours of the sun and the smooth water, crap out the coastline for the biggest part, and if possible also most of the clouds or make them less 'dark'...

Well, sounds like a lot of critique, but you asked for it, maybe you can take some things out of it.

Overall, it is a great picture. You can be proud of it e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Yeah! If I'm gonna write a comment now I have a problem... no way I'm gonna spend 100 words on describing that it looks great

I made a 36x24 print of this with a 2" border, so I did have to crop just a touch to 34x22 and the first thing I cut was that little tree up top.......Hopefully the print comes out good

Thanks for the critique Every photo has something you'd like to change about it for sure....In this one, I was not fortunate enough to have any of my GND filters with me, so it was kind of a mixed exposure really meaning the sky was too bright and the foreground was too dark. When that happens, the image really loses the sense of depth that can only be seen by the human eye. I used a gradient and then brightened up the foreground a bit to bring out the details in the water. The sky was actually less than amazing at this moment as well, so I would have a preferred a more dramatic sunset, but I like the point of view a lot in this one. I really don't like to crop images either unless it's a portrait or there is just something really distracting Thanks for you input....honest critique is what makes us all better

Well considering all this, you did a great job (but I mentioned it befor I think )

I didn't crop eather at first... But lately I discoverd that a little cropping can make that a picture just seems to talk rather that 'be nice'

That's wonderful! How'd you get the perspective so low? I love the feeling it gives of, it's so cool and calm and full of harmony ^^, great shot!

Thanks! I had my camera on a tripod about 16 inches off of the ground and let the wave go underneath it. Kind of a gutsy move with over $3,000 of camera equipment on the tripod, but as they say, no guts, no glory
