An animator showdown of Richard Williams (The Thief and the Cobbler, Who Framed Roger Rabbit) versus Chris Reccardi (The Modifyers, Ren & Stimpy).

In 2019, both these animators had sadly passed away. The one thing in common with both of them was that they had a project that was never finished. Richard Williams had an animated film entitled, The Thief and the Cobbler, that unfortunately went through quite a development hell for the 30 years that it was in production. While Miramax took the film into their own hands, they eventually kicked Williams off of his own project and semi-finish the movie without him. The version of the movie that Richard Williams had originally intended was never fully completed. Chris Reccardi created a pilot for Nickelodeon called, "The Modifyers," which was about spies who wear disguises to stop the villains. Unfortunately, the show was rejected by Nickelodeon for supposedly having a female lead. The produced pilot had also ended on a cliffhanger, which to this day was never answered. Reccardi wasn't able to pitch the show to any other channel or company because Nickelodeon still owned the rights to the pilot despite not wanting it to be a full-length show. During his final years, Reccardi had tried his best to secure the rights in order for the Modifyers to make a proper return. He did post a Facebook status claiming that he officially got the rights back from Nickelodeon, but however, he had deleted the status since then, so the outcome of who owns the Modifyers was still a mystery. Sadly, Reccardi passed away at the age of 54 after suffering a heart attack while surfing, and the future of The Modifyers may have died with him.
