straight up, there are a ton of mistakes and errors and rough bits on this but i don't CARE because this is the coolest thing i have ever made. ever.this one is dedicated to my friend grace (she's the owner of MJ's hair for all my pieces btw) for being cool and all our 'who would be MJ in OUR spidy film' conversations.

I am really enjoying your spiderman concept stuff. It's a great new take on some old characters that haven't changed since concieved. I really like the loose style you have to everything. Very well done.

Ya, this is definetly intensely cool - I love her pose and all the movement you achieved with her hair and everything. The whole 'on top of a building' thing with the wicked light coming from the top right definetly contributes to all the majesty that the classic 'looking behind at the camera' pose carries with it.
And tell me you don't like Hilary Duff.

thanks. im a big fan of super8 film where you get that real textured, high contrast feel on video and ive been trying to get that for a while in my work.
to be honest i havn't seen much hillary duff other than bits of tv programs so god knows what she sounds like.. she does have the stuff tho

It's good, of course, but I knew that Hillary Duff was your ref off the bat... not based on the pose, but on the facial structure(seriously--even before I read your comments). I think it's biased away from your original mj concept, and closer to your referance. I'm not saying this because it's necessarilly a bad thing, but because you may not be aware of how strong the bias is. Good stuff. I loved your venom the best so far in this series, but this comes in close second. I love the way you do your solar effect. It makes me squint.

thanks. ive been working on that grainy solar effect for a while now and ive finally got something im pleased with.
altho i think bias is the wrong word...the original mj concept i had was a test sheet based on a number of different ppl, some of which were my friend Grace (which really is the biggest inspiration...the hair, the eyes and make-up and the dice ear-ring) lyndsay lohan, hillary duff and a whole host of other ppl. i didn't originally know what MJ was going to look like so its less of a deviation away from the original and more of a step towards discovering what i want. i don't like to make concrete decisions i prefer to be flexible and work around as many angles as possible so that if i come up with something better i can include it and not rule it out because it wasn't what i thought of originally.
