This piece was inspired by their piece Hanging around angel and this character's amazing backstory. I wanted to draw some sort of background for this piece since I need the practice and I was really feeling that night city lights vibe.
I really love this character's design it was really fun to draw them! I hope you like it!
This piece was kind of huge experimentation with lighting, background, and even human characters.
Feedback would be very much appreciated!

I'M GOING TO BE HONEST, looking at this makes my heart ache you just succeeded so well in the atmosphere of the drawing, and in getting all these emotions through to the viewer. I'm in love with the lighting and how they shine through the imaginary wings <3
I'm actually kinda surprised with how emotionally charged this is?! ATs usually don't turn out that complicated, which I don't mind, but it makes me sooo happy that you took your time to actually learn and think about my character, and in the end making this.. PERFECT picture of him! You just nailed him /so well/, both design wise and personality wise

This comment literally just made my entire day! Thank you so much, I'm really really happy to know that you like this piece! I was a little self-conscious about how it looked since I tried doing something different, but I'm glad that it turned out good and that I was able to evoke that atmosphere and emotion I was going for with it.
I was honestly going to do something simple, since I was really inspired by the piece you did with the bird outline in the background; but then I read his bio and I just absolutely loved the story and his personality and I just HAD to do something special and emotional for it.
The scene that I was going for was right after he had ran away from his everything, just entering human society and all the feelings that he must be going through.
Again I'm really glad that you enjoyed the piece and I'm glad for doing an art trade with you. You are honestly a really cool person and your art is just so gorgeous and unique!!
