Polearms are the favored close-combat weaponry of the Active Races, and are one of the weapons that most cultures developed independently of one another. All races that utilize polearms have developed various styles of polearm arts.

The Yittir pictured is showing off one of the techniques used in Rundyt'dohrun Tohloh, an Aloran polearm art that focuses on disabling or stunning, rather than killing, opponents via concussive force, in this case, by using the wide, bladeless side of the voulge. This technique also allows for quick turning of the pole, in the case that either the blade or thorn is needed.
