Detroit Lake is actually what used to be the city of Detroit. Then a dam was built and they covered the entire city, which is now relocated on the outskirts of the lake. Then the water gets low each season the trees that once were in the city become visible and it is like a tree stump graveyard. I swear I can hear them whispering to me, and I have to touch each one. I believe trees are living records of our history, and this one had many stories to tell! He now resides on the edge of Piety Island. He was a beauty, even in his spirit stump state!
