Description And another one done in Octane

I'm having so much fun with this software. Waited about 2:30 to finish the 2500 samples needed for this one

Absolutely beautiful render, friend!

I think what makes her hands look odd is the fingernail textures, whoever did the texture didn't think about how they look on long fingernails, as the "skin" looking part extends out unrealistically. Also the surface setting just don't look right, too flat. The finger lines (where the fingers bend) does look a bit rough, which makes the hands look a bit old, so with that, I do agree with =Me-MAI .

The rest of her, absolutely gorgeous and innocent looking, beautiful job, friend!

Thanks Wolfie

Still in the process of learning Octane and I have to admit I'm lost with the settings for good skin... At the moment, I used Matte skin on everything except the lips where I put a bit of glossy material. I know I should use more glossy material, but I can't get a good mix.... Sigh, still so much to learn about...

Very welcome, friend!

Actually, through your comment, I'm getting the hint that Octane's glossy shows up stronger then Reality, but I would try this... set skin on glossy (especially fingernails as well as lips), for the normal skin, try a darker color, as well as less strength/glossiness (don't know the settings there). Though the skin does look ok (as a girl that's pretty dried, not sweating or anything), setting it on glossy gives you more control of the situation.

Right now, one of my best setting on skin for Reality is a little above dark blue (almost blue/greenish), at 7000 glossiness, can be a bit less, can be a bit more, depending on the sweat-ness of the character and the type of lights you're dealing with (photo stages/sun/in house), there's no strength setting, the color itself is the main controller (the darker, the less "strength"), with the fingernails, lighter blue, glossy 8500, and lips, lighter blue, glossy 7500 to 8000 depending on how wet you want the lips to look, and for glossy lips stick, 8500, or even 9000 for high gloss.

I'm still working on getting correct skin results in Octane. I know it's possible as Mec4D managed to do it

Could you maybe give me a bit more info? Is this because of the nails? Or because of the textures at the joints of the fingers? I saw that something went wrong with the model itself in some places...

Hmmm, could be caused by how the light was set up... As you maybe saw, we started a discussion with jamminwolfie hereunder about this

Will try to get this better done on the next one
