Really there can never be too many badgers in this world, I love how you choose the species for this months submission, he's really so cute

Awww! I'm incredibly happy for your words!!!!
Yay, the glasses! I love them too!
I totally agree with you: admit I finded theyr signs, (holes, footprints and other) but I never see one from real! They're really cute and personally think that people should know more about the fauna around us! XD!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Indra1408 In reply to AndromedasWitchery [2018-06-23 15:59:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I haven't seen one yet either, though I think they're less common in the US than in the EU. People should totally learn about our world more, it always makes me sad how little people want to learn. Oh well can't change em don't join em, at lest we nature lovers know what we're talking about

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AndromedasWitchery In reply to Indra1408 [2018-07-01 15:40:34 +0000 UTC]

Ah! I don't have any idea about that, but can say that here badgers are quite rare, both for destruction of theyr habitat and cars driven too fast... but surely they can be less rare than expected but just more shy!
Anyway, I think that more and more people know about world more they will be ready for changing things.... I know... It's an utopia......😶

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Indra1408 In reply to AndromedasWitchery [2018-07-02 09:59:04 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I've heard that badgers can be very shy.

I totally agree. The trend usually fallows that when people know more about the people and animals they hurt the more they are apt to change. People generally treat animals nicer today than they did a hundred years ago (most people would never kick their dog for instance but it used to be more than common).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AndromedasWitchery In reply to Indra1408 [2018-07-05 07:15:38 +0000 UTC]

That's true! More thinks are known less they are mistreated!
Also here things are changing, but very slowly.... the worst thing is the ignorance of people: you don't mind how many people I meet walking my dog, who "know all about wolves, and how bad and aggressive they are, and you girl must use throttle collar"... and so on. Same thing for horses.....
In those cases I love when my wolf and horse do themselves something that deny what these silly people believe!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Indra1408 In reply to AndromedasWitchery [2018-07-05 18:38:54 +0000 UTC]

Ugh I hate people who use throttle collars, pince collars, and the like. Our last neighbor used an electric collar on her wolf dog. I wanted to tear through the door between our basement apartments and cut the damn thing to bits! I hate of corporal punishment is legal to use on kids and pets, make my blood curdle esp the really painful stuff like spokes and whips

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AndromedasWitchery In reply to Indra1408 [2018-08-14 16:12:14 +0000 UTC]

Argh! Hate that things! Fortunatly they're illegal here! But we have the ones that spay citronel oil on dog's nose..... 😔
Aww.... totally agree with you! Even if here the situation is strange: more often I can see hard manners on dogs and children soo free that they can do whatever they want, like little teppists!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Indra1408 In reply to AndromedasWitchery [2018-08-19 21:49:09 +0000 UTC]

Me too. Aw man good for your country. We would ban those evil devices as well

Yeah it's really sad. I personally would never use pain as punishment on kids or animals ever. No one's perfect and occasionally really nice people under presser might reach out and lightly slap their screaming kid just out of reaction, this isn't necessarily right but I can understand that. But taking out a whip or belt and flogging someone just ugh, makes be get really upset thinking about those things

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AndromedasWitchery In reply to Indra1408 [2018-09-11 07:38:02 +0000 UTC]

You're totally right!
Personally I don't like use punishment but sometime it's necessary: animals use it too and admit I prefer replicate theyr behavour with my animals only when necessary! They understand it really better than scream or slaps or other... but sometime there are ppl who exceed!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Indra1408 In reply to AndromedasWitchery [2018-09-11 21:20:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah if someone's aggressive dog cat or human I won't hesitate to give it a slap in warning though I hate ppl slapping their dogs when they wander off or something (if they want there dog to stay by them use a leash! Plus dogs only remember their actions for 5 or so min so if a person were to home and find the dog chewed on something beating them does nothing but confuse the poor pup (lit they're like why am I in trouble for greeting you at the door?). Generally nonviolence is best of course, but even I've grabbed by dog by the neck a few times when she was about to eat something dangerous.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AndromedasWitchery In reply to Indra1408 [2018-10-04 07:54:51 +0000 UTC]

Totally agree! Admit I'm used to learn as much as possible about breed and natural behaviour of my animals or ones I'm interacting: replicate theyr body language is the best way for "talk" with them, also in case of needed punishment - f.e. when they do something wrong (you have few second, lately slaps are totally unnecessary) or they try to eat someting dangerous.
I remember that the only one time I slapped my horse was cause he was swallowing an orange lighter and he lifted his head preventing me to put hand in his throat....
On the other side, animal mothers use "punishement": replicate them is the best way! I used that kind of training for my wolf when he tryed to bite vet, bully my mom, steal or eat pens, shoes, books or carpets: rolling him on his back, or ignore him for some min, the baddest and used really a little was a nip on the tip of ear.... and I have to say that worked really good, used really a little - in particular during the 6 month crisis n.n - and now he is really equilibrate that also our vets are amazed: they have always to sedate strongly other CWD!

Indra1408 In reply to AndromedasWitchery [2018-10-07 00:16:42 +0000 UTC]

I would try to slap a lighter from my horses mouth too(wowza close one!). Yeah I'm always happy to see and met other people who treat the animals in their care with respect and love (even when needing to be firm). Yup I hate it when people don't regard the way an animal thinks when trying to get them to not do something.

The other day I saw this woman being really rough with her border collie. Chose not to put a leash on the feisty thing so it kept running around (like most young dogs will do off lead). Made me a bit ill to see her rough housing it not even trying to give it commands just yelling its name. We had a next door neighbor who was always smacking her wolf dog when it barked and used electric collar truly sad.

Aw Gondor sounds like he panned out swell then. XD I can tell from his happy smiles in the photos that he's well loved though, which makes all the difference.

XD!
Admit that education is always important also with animals: admit that now I've find my troubles with my new colt -soon will post some photoes - cause he is totally wild...for everything is not ok for him he trys to kick.... fortunatly he is barefoot! But admit that with firmly manners, voice and patience we are starting to communicate!

Awww.... bad things! Poor dogs!!!! Admit that here is qute same, even if in other parts of Europe mind is changing... unfortunatly there are really too much people thinking that firmly manners are same as bad ones!

Yes! Same here, one of the reasons I don't drive. I like being a passenger on the bus with my special bag of treasure beside me. Also my internet stays at home. No phone tag when I'm outside XD books are better travel companion s than phones.

n.n! Phones, are usefull, but they must be not abused! Admit I often forget mine at work or at home, when not in the car!
