UPDATES ARE BEING DONE ON THE SPECIES DESCRIPTION!

_________________________________

Species name: Harlock

Height: barons: +- 300 cm| countess: ?

Weight: barons > 600 kg | countess > ?

Lifespan: ?

Diet: Carnivorous

Build: Sharp

Appearance: Harlock are large and intimidating creatures. They are provided with a dark exoskeleton covering almost their intire bodies. Although mostly dark, shades of purple shine through. Most notable are the tendrils on their neck which are a more soft cartilage and appear translucent. Whenever they are working with heightened senses and preying on creatures with their mindbreaking these tendrils glow as well as their eyes because of a yet unknown internal procedure. Their strong mandibles and sharp teeth in disarray remain exposed as they have no lips. Their claws are much alike, hard plated horn-like at the tips but cartilage in the joints.
Harlock barons look very much alike at the core, but they have shown some sort of personality through scarring and bodily injuries.

Environment: The Harlock come from a dark planet, Dharnt, which lies near a dying star. The planet's rough terrain is shrouded in darkness and ash from volcanic activity. It is believed that early on they built underground systems to navigate around, preying on creatures above and below the surface. Their reproductive way allows them to easily spread and overtake planets or other species, this however is attempted to be controlled by authorities.

Abilities:
    + Superior senses of smell
    + Great strength and stamina
    + Killing machines
    + Superior predators
    + Mindbreakers

    - Primitive
    - Hivemind senses
    - Expansive species and dangerous as fuck

System & Origin: Much of the Harlock's system and origin remains unknown. It is unknown if or why the Harlock were approached by the Mkaleesh although the translation chips to feature bits of its language, as the Mkaleesh refuse to release any kind of information on the dangerous species. What is known that they live in a hierarchy with barons that come in variations of warriors, workers and more recently (in the species' span of existence) scientists. All of this under colonial rule of a countess. She births the embryos out of which Harlock barons hatch.
In case of the countess' death, or when a baron sets out to create a new colony, barons can reproduce as long as they have a living host capable in size to carry and develop a new embryo. Countess birth is no guarantee, as the chance of another baron spawning is greater. In that case the baron(s) try again until they achieved their goal and establish a new colony under countess rule.

Harlock are banned on most planets and ships! Any system owned by Humans, Quertilikan, Dorann and Nerath have explicit prohibitions against the handling and presence of Harlock. The Ch'Ar are the exception to the rule, given their skulls' resistance to the Harlock's sensory penetration. Some Harlock have shown interest in communicating with other species, not showing hostile behaviour towards other species. It is advised to stay away from them, even if they appear docile.

Various:
    - Sensory penetration is described ranging from unpleasant to extremely painful, in some cases ending with death
    - There have been documentations of Harlock testing and new colonies, but these have been terminated by authorities
    - It is estimated that part of the discomfort during mindbreaking happens through high pitched noises, as mandibles move
    - Words falling out of the translation's range register as their deep clicking and snarling tone
    - A lot is still unknown about these creatures

Definitely not wanting to be in company with one of them XD Even if they look super-duper cool Mind-blowing design again! Every space opera needs a nice hulking monstrous alien or I am not buying it ! XD It's a personal taste, but space opera without aliens is kind of improbable for me In this vast universe, there totally must be other species ^^

Haha! No, they wouldn't really make for great company either way! :'D
Thank you so much!!! It's impossible we are alone out here, it's just a matter of if and when!
